Everfield Acquires Denmark-based Hospitality Software Leader OnlinePOS

Written by Everfield | 17 June 2025

Everfield, a long-term investor and growth accelerator for European B2B software companies, has acquired OnlinePOS, Denmark’s leading provider of point-of-sale (POS) solutions for the hospitality & events sector. Marking Everfield’s 30th acquisition in Europe and its first in Denmark, this deal strengthens the group’s focus on vertical software for the hospitality industry, and expands its presence in the Nordics.

Founded in 2008, OnlinePOS has grown into one of Denmark’s most trusted POS platforms for the hospitality industry, serving restaurants, bars, and event venues across the region.

The company offers a modular POS system combining core cash register functions with advanced features such as QR self-service ordering, inventory control, table and back-office management, as well as card payment and takeaway solutions.

Featuring more than 30 integrations to leading third-party software solutions, OnlinePOS enables its customers to seamlessly connect their POS system with tools they already use — ranging from booking platforms and accounting software to delivery services.

Joining the Everfield ecosystem empowers OnlinePOS to speed up innovation, grow its presence across the Nordics, and leverage the shared expertise and support of Everfield’s growing group of vertical software companies.

At OnlinePOS, we’ve always been driven by a vision to simplify and modernize POS and payment solutions for HORECA businesses. Becoming part of Everfield marks an exciting new chapter in that journey. We chose Everfield because of their long-term commitment to building enduring software businesses – not just through capital, but through shared values, operational excellence, and a genuine respect for the team behind the products. Their decentralized approach allows us to maintain our entrepreneurial spirit while benefiting from the strength and support of a broader network of like-minded companies," said CEO and Co-Founder Lasse Peters.

"Personally, I’m excited about the opportunity to collaborate across that network, to share ideas and best practices, and to accelerate the development of our product roadmap with professional guidance. I look forward to building something even stronger – not just for our customers, but for our team and partners as well,” he added.

OnlinePOS will continue to be led by Lasse Peters and Karsten Knudsen, managing a team of around 70 people from the main office in Randers, with additional offices in Copenhagen and Oslo, Norway.

Lorenz Fuglsang, Deal Lead overseeing the Nordics at Everfield, adds, We’re thrilled to welcome OnlinePOS to the Everfield software ecosystem and look forward to supporting their long-term growth ambitions. This acquisition is a meaningful step forward in building our long-term footprint in the Nordics and underscores our commitment to investing in strong local software leaders with deep domain expertise.

OnlinePOS is an impressive business with deep sector expertise, strong local presence, and a flexible, scalable point-of-sale product,” said Henning Schreiber, Head of Acquisitions at Everfield. “Having OnlinePOS  as part of the Everfield ecosystem marks an exciting step for our European food & hospitality vertical.

With Digifood, MatrixPOS, helloTESS!, and KOST, the Everfield ecosystem already brings together four established software providers in the POS space. The acquisition of OnlinePOS adds further expertise to the ecosystem and enhances its ability to deliver customer-centric, scalable solutions across the food & hospitality sector.
