The Matrix POS product is a leading suite of point-of-sale (POS), payment and HR solutions for restaurants, hotels, franchises, corporate canteens and theme parks in the DACH region.
Everfield, a long-term investor and growth accelerator for European B2B software companies, strengthens its position in the food and hospitality sector by acquiring the Matrix product line.
As part of this transaction, the Matrix POS product line will transition from 42 GmbH to operate under the newly established Matrix POS GmbH.
The newly formed entity will retain the same dedicated team, ensuring seamless continuity for clients and enabling the continued development of its innovative solutions. Renowned for addressing the complex needs of restaurants, hotels, franchises, corporate canteens and theme parks, the Matrix POS product suite remains a trusted leader in optimising and streamlining operations within the hospitality industry.
Matrix POS’ flagship product Matrix POS, an integrated cash register system, delivers seamless management of billing, splitting, orders and payments while also supporting inventory, staff, menus, and customer interactions.
Complementing these is Matrix Pay, an advanced solution for payment as well as Conga HR, a powerful solution for time-keeping, employee scheduling, and HR analytics.
Together, these tools integrate seamlessly with the existing Everfield portfolio, providing clients with an unparalleled ecosystem to elevate their operations.
This acquisition reinforces Everfield’s commitment to empowering businesses who have created cutting-edge technology, while maintaining their team and brand through a decentralised approach.
Operations continue as usual from their Hanover offices
Matrix POS’ operations will continue to be based out of its Hanover headquarters, providing uninterrupted service to its valued clients.
The Matrix POS product line will take centre stage in 2025 as Everfield supports its further development to meet the evolving needs of the hospitality industry. The newly formed entity will retain its experienced management team, ensuring a seamless transition.
Thomas Freesemann, who has been instrumental in the development of the Matrix product suite since its inception in 2001, will assume the role of CEO of Matrix POS, bringing his technical expertise to the forefront of the business.
Meanwhile, 42 and Matrix POS will continue their close cooperation to benefit from synergies. This arrangement ensures continuity and support for both organisations as they move forward.
“We are thrilled to join Everfield’s network of innovative software companies,” said Thomas Freesemann, CEO of Matrix POS. “Everfield’s commitment to empowering businesses like ours will enable us to refine our solutions for our loyal clients while unlocking new opportunities for growth. This partnership reflects our shared vision for sustainable success, and we are eager to take this next step together with the support of our customers and team.”
“Having Matrix POS as part of the Everfield ecosystem marks an exciting step for our food and hospitality vertical,” said Henning Schreiber, Head of Acquisitions at Everfield.
“From their advanced POS solutions to their strong industry relationships, Matrix POS has set a high bar in the hospitality sector. By combining their expertise with Everfield’s resources, we aim to push boundaries, deliver new innovations, and elevate their impact. This acquisition further underscores Everfield’s ongoing commitment to expanding our presence in the DACH region, a key market for our long-term strategy.”
