ondeso, part of the Everfield ecosystem since 2024, has acquired Drive Snapshot, the backup and disk imaging software it has partnered with for more than ten years. ondeso provides OT management software for manufacturers, including backup and recovery of industrial PCs. With the acquisition, Drive Snapshot becomes part of the ondeso product family.
Drive Snapshot was developed by Tom Ehlert in Aachen, Germany, and has been trusted in demanding IT environments for more than two decades. It creates an exact image of a running Windows system and restores it on the same or new hardware if the system fails, complete with operating system, drivers and applications.
ondeso SR, ondeso's solution for securing industrial PCs, uses Drive Snapshot's imaging technology and adds central planning, automated execution and monitoring of backup jobs across production sites. Together, the two products cover the full process, from image to restore. For manufacturers running production systems that cannot afford downtime, this is one well supported answer to the question of what happens when a machine fails.
Drive Snapshot will be integrated into ondeso's existing systems and processes step by step, including product, customer and support structures. The focus is on continuity: the technology stays in place, and Drive Snapshot will be developed further over the long term, with an even closer connection to ondeso SR.
Everfield supported ondeso throughout the transaction and will continue to do so as the two products grow together. For ondeso and Drive Snapshot, this is the start of a new chapter, with a stronger backup and recovery solution for the manufacturers who rely on them every day.
